Absolutely not.
But did I still show up to the life-size Monopoly game in Charlotte?
Absolutely yes.
Parking & Entry
Parking is free and there’s plenty of it, which is always a win.
Once you enter, you’ll scan your ticket and get a buzzer, which lets you know when it’s your turn to play. Super easy process.
While You Wait…
While you’re waiting for your group to be called, there’s a game zone where you can play:
- Classic board games like Sorry!
- Mini Golf Monopoly
- Grab snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, or Monopoly-themed cocktails (yes, there’s a bar )
It definitely helps pass the time — and adds to the fun vibe before the main event.
The Main Event: Life-Size Monopoly
Okay… the game itself? SO much fun.
Even though I didn’t know how to play traditional Monopoly, you don’t need any experience to enjoy this. The rules are different from the classic version anyway.
Here’s what to expect:
- You’re guided by two game hosts who explain everything and keep score.
- When you land on a property, you do a challenge.
- If the property’s unclaimed and you complete the challenge, it’s yours.
- If it’s taken, you win Monopoly money, but you still have to pay rent.
- The goal? Collect the most assets — not the most money.
- There are also mini challenges throughout.
- Everything is timed, and they are strict about the schedule — so no dawdling!
Did I Win?
Drumroll please…
Nope!
My team actually came in dead last.
But honestly? Still a 10/10 experience. I had so much fun that I’m already thinking about going back just to redeem myself.
Good News: It’s Been Extended!
If you’re in the Charlotte area or close by, you’re in luck. The event has been extended through January 4th, 2026, so there’s still time to get tickets.
Whether you’re a die-hard Monopoly fan or just looking for a fun, interactive group activity, I highly recommend it.
